Assembly Technician
📍 Location: San Diego, CA | On-site | Full-time

Our mission is to provide unparalleled clarity and insights into the deep ocean through our computer vision solutions. As a fast-growing company, we're seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Assembly Technician to join our production team and contribute to our groundbreaking work.
This role is crucial for the precise assembly of complex electronic and mechanical components for our subsea vision systems. It requires excellent manual dexterity, a strong understanding of assembly processes, and a commitment to quality and accuracy in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Precision Assembly – Perform precise assembly of electronic and mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and final products according to blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Tool Utilization – Skillfully use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for assembly tasks.
- Delicate Soldering – Solder small electronic components with precision, adhering to high-quality standards.
- Quality Assurance – Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections to ensure all assembled components meet specifications.
- Problem Identification – Identify and report any defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
- Maintain Excellence – Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Team Collaboration – Work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other production team members.
- Operational Support – Assist with inventory management and material handling as needed.
- Continuous Improvement – Participate in initiatives to optimize assembly processes and product quality.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Assembly Skill: Demonstrated proficiency in electro-mechanical assembly, with 2+ years of experience gained through professional work, vocational training, or personal projects.
- Soldering Expertise: Proven experience with soldering small components.
- Technical Interpretation: Ability to accurately read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Manual Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic Computer Proficiency: Comfortable with basic computer skills for data entry and accessing work instructions.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Problem-Solver: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor assembly issues.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree or technical certification in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Knowledge of camera, subsea, and/or underwater technology components.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Soldering experience to IPC-A-610 standards.
- Basic CNC/CAM knowledge
